'Thllwnd' is a contemplative composition, created to characterise my concurrent malaise, melancholic-mood-swings and stir-crazy consciousness... It's an experimental/dynamic-drone piece. Initially a loop-based improvisation, created using the Roland JX-03; routed through the Strymon BigSky, TC Electronic Flashback X4 Delay, TC Electronic Ditto Looper X2, Kaoss Pad 3, Kaoss Pad Quad, Roland Space Echo RE-20 and the on-board effects of the Elektron Octatrack. There's also some heavily-effected vocals & field-recordings of the recent gale-force winds (which have been whistling through my windows & battering the house). I then played around with the mix, recording it down to a dusty, well-used cassette-tape, via my trusty Yamaha MT50 4-Track. It was then re-sampled and re-pitched using Maschine; some 'creeping-distortion' was added, along with some extra textural-layering, then, finally, a touch of extra vintage sound was created by running the final mix through the 'Vintage-MP60 Engine'.
